How do I make changes on my return after it is accepted?

Once you have queued your return for transmission, you can not make changes to any information unless it is returned for correction(s).

This is a security feature for your protection. It generally takes 24-48 hours to hear back from the IRS regarding the status of your return.

You can also log into our site to get a status message regarding your return.

Once your return is accepted by the IRS, no changes can be made unless you file an amended return 1040-X. Amended returns can now be electronically filed (when e-file is opened). If e-file is closed, this form must be paper filed along with all of your financial reporting statements (W-2's, etc.) and corrected tax forms. For more information, see Form 1040x Instructions.

If you filed your original tax return with us, your amended return is free.

You will need to log in to your tax return, which will take you to the Tax Return Status page, where there will be a link to File an Amended Return. Change only the inputs that need to be changed. You will need to mail all forms, along with your financial reporting statements and the 1040x, to the IRS for processing.

If you did not file your original tax return with OLT.com, our fee is $49.95.

From our homepage, select Amend a Tax Return. Select Original was not filed with OLT and follow the link to Start an Amended Tax Return. Create an account with OLT and follow the online interview to create your tax return. We will calculate your new tax forms, as well as the 1040x for you based on your inputs. You will need to mail all forms, along with your financial reporting statements and the 1040x, to the IRS for processing.
