Maine Contributions/Park Pass
You and/or your spouse may make separate party designations for political party contributions. Write in the amount of your contributions on the corresponding line.
Endangered and Nongame Wildlife Fund "Chickadee Check-off". The Chickadee Check-off is a voluntary tax contribution whose proceeds are placed in the Nongame and Endangered Wildlife Fund and used to fund the endangered and nongame wildlife programs. Maine Children's Trust. Maine Children's Trust was established to prevent childabuse and neglect in Maine. Funds contributed are used to support this goal in many ways, including the funding of community-based prevention activities and programs throughout Maine. Contributions may be deductible the following year on state and federal income tax returns. The fund is administered by the Maine Children's Trust. Companion Animal Sterilization Fund. The Companion Animal Sterilization Fundis a voluntary tax contribution whose proceeds are used to fund the Animal Welfare Program's "Help Fix ME" Spay/NeuterFund for low-income dog and cat owners. By contributing to this fund you will be on the frontline in the fight to stop pet overpopulation in Maine. Contributions may be deductible thefollowing year on state and federal income tax returns. The fund is administered bythe Department of Agriculture. For more information call 800-367-1317.
Maine Military Family Relief Fund. TheMaine Military Family Relief Fund was established to help the public assist the families of persons who aremembers of the Maine National Guard or residents of Maine who are members ofthe Reserves and who have been called tomilitary duty and are experiencing financial hardship. Contributions may be deductible the following year on state and federalincome tax returns. The fund is administered by the Maine Adjutant General.
Maine Veterans' Memorial Cemetery Maintenance Fund. The MaineVeterans' Memorial Cemetery Maintenance Fund was established to help finance the maintenance and upkeep of Maine veterans' cemeteries.
Maine Public Library Fund. “…The fund is administered by the State Librarian. All money deposited in the fund and the earnings on that money remain in the fund to be used to provide grants to free public libraries for use in providing services identified as priority services by the State Librarian…”
PARK PASSES. Maine Park passes can be purchased through Maine Revenue Services when you file your income tax return. Note that visitors 65 years or over are admitted to Maine State Park day-use areas free of charge upon proof of age. An individual pass allows only the pass holder admittance to day use of Maine state parks and historic sites.
A vehicle pass (for vehicles weighing up to one-ton) allows all occupants of the vehicle admittance to day use. These passes do not include entry into Baxter State Park, Allagash Wilderness Waterway, the Penobscot River Corridor or Scarborough Beach. Any pass purchased will reduce the amount of your refund or increase the amount you owe.
