Which corded Plantronics headsets are compatible with Cisco phones - 7945, 7975, 7841, 8945?
Cisco compatible Plantronics Corded Headsets
Corded headsets have a different set of principles versus wireless headsets. You can use a variety of Plantronics Corded (mono vs. duo, noise-canceling vs. omni mic) headsets depending on your specific requirements, environment, etc. The correct accessories make a world of difference when using Corded Headsets. The most common setup, recommended by Plantronics, for general offices (receptionist, help desk, cubicles, etc) is to use a corded headset with a Headset Adapter (M22). This will provide the best audio experience to the user.
The other setup method to connect a Plantronics corded headset to a Cisco phone is without the usage of a Headset adapter. In this scenario you will use a special Plantronics Telephone Interface cable instead of the Headset adapter (M22). This method is best suited for infrequent headset users, the occasional conference call or users in a quiet environment. This method is not recommended for call intensive environments as the overall "volume" , in the headset, is not always properly adjusted by the Cisco phones.
Note:
1) To activate the headset you will need to press headset button on the phone. You may need to enable the Headset mode on your Cisco phone prior to using the Plantronics headset.
